
On the 18th to 22nd of October 2015 in Erbil, a training course initiated, funded, and directed by the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) was organized and led by the Rwanga Foundation and UNICEF to discuss the leading techniques and cutting edge methods of altering human behavior with a focus on water conservation within the Kurdistan Region in line with Rwanga’s focus on educational reform. The Chief Executive Director of the Rwanga Foundation, Abdul Salam Medeni acted as the lead trainer to the attendees of the various sessions, spreading his unparalleled experience to those who attended.
Marking the project a success, a few attendees including Nishtiman Osman, from Sulaymaniya was quoted in saying, “what I learned in this training course was unbounded, especially about altering people’s behavior and mentalities, a factor very useful in my work as we are dealing with people on a daily basis including on how to involve other people in our projects. I promise what I learned I will pass on to my colleagues and friends.”
Another participant, Shirin Hussen Mahwey said, “I participated in many trainings in the past but none compared to this. It truly affected me, my perspective, and my knowledge on how to both interact and alter human behavior both theoretically and practically. I can say I have truly learned a lot.”
Representatives from throughout the region from Duhok, Erbil, Sulaymani, and Germian participated in the training course. The KRG representative, Shermin Rahaman Baiz expressed her gratitude to the “Rwanga Foundation and UNICEF for organizing this training course”. Quoted in saying, “I can see that we all learned a lot from the trainer who was very involved and useful in teaching us how to alter human behavior. I have high hopes for organizing kind of training in the future.” Rwanga Foundation intends to continue organizing these types of training courses on other subjects the throughout the coming years.
