The Social Security and Retirement Department in Baghdad and the Directorate of Labor in KRI play a vital role in providing essential services to the citizens of Iraq. However, the existing paper-based document management system results in significant inefficiencies, leading to delays, potential security risks, and other risks of data loss.

Rwanga Foundation in coordination with ILO, had an agreement to initiate a project in this regard and the aim is to digitalize the documents of the social security and Retirement departments in Baghdad and KRI.

We have observed that the documents stored in Baghdad are in a critical situation and some of the documents are close to being fully destroyed and the information would be lost soon. Therefore, Rwanga Foundation recruited 16 staff in Baghdad to scan 30,000 out of 47,000 files within 6 months. While recruiting 8 staff for Erbil, Sulaimani, Duhok, Halabja, Raparin, and Garmian to record all the files of the Directorate of Labor in one Excel sheet.

After completing the six-month working period, the Excel sheet will be handed over to the government. And government employees will be able to use the Excel sheet file to facilitate the workflow and avoid missing information.
