
Erbil and Duhok, KURDISTAN (December 16th – December 19th, 2019) - Rwanga Foundation with the support of KurdNeft Company distributes 50,000 liters of kerosene to the schools around Erbil and Duhok Governorates.
With the aim of supporting the educational process and preparing a suitable environment for the students with the beginning of the winter season, Rwanga Foundation, funded by KurdNeft Company, implemented a project of kerosene distribution to the schools around the Erbil and Duhok district.
On December 16th, a total of 14,000 liters of kerosene were distributed to 49 schools in Mergasor, Sherwan Mazn, Ble, Barzan, Piran and Mzne districts. In addition, another 12,000 liters were distributed to 60 schools in Choman, Smelan, Galala, Haji Omaran, Qasry, Niw Pirdan and Doli Balayan.
Moreover, on December 18th, 24,000 liters of kerosene were distributed to more than 40 schools in the Duhok district including 14 schools in Amedi, 8 schools in Zakho and 18 schools in Akre.
Ahmed Mohammed, Director of the Mergasor Directorate of Education said:" Due to the harsh environment of our region in winter season, our schools and students face a lot of problems and our needs for kerosene increases. We are very thankful for Rwanga Foundation and KurdNeft company for their efforts in supplying the schools in our region with kerosene, we hope that they continue their support to the fields of education and learning".
It is worth mentioning that the 50,000 liters of Kerosene was provided by KurdNeft Company and more than 149 schools and 13467 people (6870 male and 6597 female) including students and school staffs got benefited from the project.
