Rwanga Foundation felicitated by Duhok Governorate

Duhok Kurdistan:

As a part of regional development commitment, Duhok governorate organized an appreciation ceremony for 28 Non-Governmental Organizations (NGO’s) in Duhok city for their activities and projects in aid of Internal Displaced People (IDP) and refugees based in Duhok governorate and Rwanga Foundation was privileged to be a part of it.

Duhok Governor, Mr. Ferhad Mohammed Amin during his speech “thanked all NGOs for their roles in reducing the pain of the vulnerable people and supporting Kurdistan Government to face the challenges during the difficult times”.

Since, June 2014 when the conflict started in Iraq, Rwanga Foundation took the challenge by continually supporting the IDP’s and refugees all over the places in Kurdistan region and as a part of rehabilitation development accommodated about 24,000 IDPs by building 3000 prefab community units in Duhok Governorate.

With a collaborative participation efforts by many UN agencies, local and International NGO’s, Duhok Governorate hosted thousands of refugees by providing shelters, FIs, NFIs and other services.

In support of all the NGO’s recognition for their collaborative initiatives, Duhok Governor Mr. Ferhad Mohammed Amin and Vice Governor Mr. Behzad Ali Adam organized an appreciation ceremony for all the NGO’s invaluable role in disaster reduction and response over the past period. Rwanga Foundation being one of the most active organizations in Kurdistan and Duhok was felicitated by the Duhok Governorate for their tireless efforts, focus and commitment in re-building the region.
