Rwanga Foundation Awards the Ten Winning ‘Youth Volunteers Initiative’ Projects

Erbil, KURDISTAN (July 18th,2018)- Rwanga Foundation has held the Completion Ceremony for the ‘YouthVolunteers Initiative” project in order to recognize the volunteer groups that implemented the projects across Kurdistan Region. 

The half-day ceremony was held in ErbilRwanga Foundation was proud to invite the winning groups to the Erbil International Hotel, in which they had been awarded by several Consulates, Governmental Representatives, Project Partners, and sponsors as well as NGO’s.

During the ceremony, all of the projects had been presented and explained as well as shown the importance and impact on the beneficiaries. Each Group had used the chance to speak about their projects and share their experience from the start of the Youth Volunteers Initiative (YVI)project until the implementation of their project. The fruitful day was rounded up with all gathering and sharing lunch.  

These are the awarded groups and projects:

 

‘Green Circle’ Project 

Location: Duhok 

Volunteer Group: Green Volunteer Circle Group 

Number of Volunteers: 11 

Duration of the Project: 2 Months 

Provided Fund: 2,200,000 IQD 

Number of Beneficiaries: 900 

 

'Putting a Smile on Children's Faces through Paintings' Project 

Location: Duhok 

Volunteer Group: Dovy Volunteer Group 

Number of Volunteers: 10 

Duration of the Project: 1 Month 

Provided Fund: 3,200,000 IQD 

Number of Beneficiaries: 534

 

‘Rapareen Green Tree House’ Project 

Location: Erbil 

Volunteer Group: Green Tree Volunteer Group 

Number of Volunteers: 5 

Duration of the Project: 1 Month 

Provided Fund: 3,000,000 IQD

‘Enlighten Students through Books’ Project 

Location: Erbil

‘Repair Your Computer for Free’ Project

‘To Build Environmental Culture in Halabja and Hawraman’ Project

‘Help me to Live as Human in Society’ Project 

Location: Halabja

‘First Aid and Drug Awareness (Online and Practical Course)’ Project

Location: Sulaimani

Duration of the Project: 2 Months

Number of Beneficiaries: 180

 

‘Conscious Society, healthy environment’ Project 

Location: Sulaimani, Darbandikhan 

Volunteer Group: Nature Keeper Volunteer Group 

Number of Volunteers: 9 

Duration of the Project: 2 Months 

Provided Fund: 3,065,000 IQD 

Number of Beneficiaries: 3,500

 

‘Health Awareness Festival’ Project 

Location: Kirkuk 

Volunteer Group: Health Awareness Volunteer Group 

Number of Volunteers: 12 

Duration of the Project: 1 Month 

Provided Fund: 1,300,000 IQD 

Number of Beneficiaries: 340

 

Voluntary work is generally considered an altruistic activity where an individual or a group of people provide services for no personal or financial gain but merely for the benefit of the public. Therefore, Rwanga Foundation launched the project of ‘Youth Volunteers Initiative’, which was to urge the female and male youth to come up with project proposals and participate in a competition to be funded and supported to implement their projects for the best benefits of the public. 115 projects applied to the ‘Youth Volunteers Initiative’, and 10 projects had been selected by the judges, and funded by Rwanga Foundation to be implemented.
