Workshop for Preparing Health System for Entering BSc Midwives

Erbil – Kurdistan, December 15, 2016 – Rwanga Foundation in partnership with Erbil General Directorate of Health organized a workshop for Preparing Health System for Entering BSc Midwives which took place in the college of Nursing in Erbil. Thirty participants attended the three-day workshop which was conducted from 13th-15h December 2016. The main objectives of the workshop were: reviewing and finalizing validation of job description of BSc midwives (role, responsibilities and scope of practice), establishing rules and regulations including internship, registration and license, private clinic and establish strategies for improvement of antenatal and postnatal care in the primary health care centers.

The workshop was attended by Dr. Fareed Hanna Abdulahad - Vice President of Hawler Medical University, Dr. Abdullah Feqe Yezdeen - Director of Planning Department of General Directorate of Health, Dr. Yusef Mohamed Yunis - Dean of Nursing Collage, Dr. Hamdia Mirkhan Ahmed - Head of Midwifery Department, Mr. Salam Mohammad Islam - CED Rwanga Foundation and more than thirty doctors, nurses and midwives.
