Rwanga Foundation visits Luminus Education in Amman

AMMAN, Jordan ( April 12th, 2017) - Rwanga Foundation visited Luminus Education, which offers technical and vocational training programs in Jordan, aiming to implement the same experience to the region and taking technical and vocational training to new levels.

The aim of the four-day visit was to learn from the experience of the Luminus Education in order to implement the same project in the region. Located in Amman, Luminus Education comprises several schools, colleges and institutes including Al Quds College, Arcana Training Centre, Bella Amman, and SAE Institute. Luminus Education plans to open new colleges in Jordan, Egypt, Lebanon, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and Iraq in the near future.

''Vocational Training is one of the gaps in our education system and private sector. Luminus Education is one of the success stories. Rwanga Foundation, with support of IFC and the experience of Luminus Education, wants to adapt this successful experience in the region!'' said Salam M. Islam, Chief Executive Director at Rwanga Foundation.

The delegation of Rwanga Foundation was taken by the Luminus Education to a tour inside the facility in order to familiarize them with the services provided. The tour was followed by a three-hour meeting in order to discuss ways of partnership in the near future.

Rwanga Foundation represented by Salam M. Islam: Chief Executive Director and Dastan Q. Abdullah: Director of Projects, met with Ibrahim Al Safadi: Founder and CEO of Luminus Education, ZiadBadr: Iraq Country Manager - International Finance Corporation, Thomas Visser: COO Luminus Education, Amanda Kelleher: International Education Director – Luminus Education, Dr. Ayman M. Maqableh: The Dean of Al Quds College. Moreover Rwanga Foundation and Luminus planned to write the project proposal in order to submit it to the donors for implementing the project in the region.

The visit came as part of Rwanga Foundation's vision to improve skills and help reduce unemployment in the region. The effort of International Finance Corporation IFC/ World Bank as a main partner of Rwanga Foundation is to support the region and bring new ideas.
