Rwanga-Foras offers Free Business Trainings to IDPs

ERBIL, Kurdistan, May4, 2017 - Rwanga Foras in partnership with International Finance Corporation (IFC) held a training workshop for the IDPs residing in Bahrka Camp in Erbil in order to improve their employability and management skills.

A cement factory converted to a temporary accommodation, Bahrka IDP camp is one of the largest camps in Erbil. The camp has expanded and about 4,000 internally displaced people (IDPs) living in the camp. Since the people are not able to go home unless ISIS is dealt with effectively, Rwanga Foras wants to improve their employability skills in order to help them find/run jobs in Erbil.

‘’Considering the market needed skills and through analyzing and assessing the needs of the potential candidates, it was found out that the most beneficial training among the set of BE courses would be (CARING FOR THECUSTOMER).’’ Said Kawa Ghafoor, the trainer، explaining the content of the training.

Rwanga-Foras project delivered a series of the Business Edge trainings to help the IDPs to improve the most needed skills. This time, the training was focusing on the Caring for the Customer. He added ‘’ throughout the training hours the participants were fully engaged with the course content and activities and the level of interaction and participation was beyond expectation.’’

The training aimed to improve their management capacity and business performance that helps the unemployed find jobs, build their own projects and enhancing the performance of those who are already employed.

The training took place in the camp’s Zawahiri Social Centre where over 17 IDPs trained. One of the participants found the training very useful and stated ‘’ it was really useful and now I have a better idea about the importance of customers in a company and the enormous role of the customers in the sustainability of a certain company’s business life.’’

The training was delivered in partnership with the International Finance Corporation (IFC). IFC has over six decades of experience increasing opportunities. Is also has a long history of designing skills programs to improve management capacity and business performance. Internationally, IFC has access to around 500 trainers and 91 highly skilled training providers who have delivered similar trainings to more than 200,000 individuals across 64countries.
