Rwanga Foundation Conducted Programming and App Development Course for Youth in Halabja Province

Halabja, KURDISTAN – (24th of June-11th of August,  2018) – Rwanga Foundation, in partnership with the University of Halabja (UoH),  supports 21 adolescents in improving their skills and enhancing their  livelihoods by starting  a business out of the courses gained knowledge.

With the graduation ceremony held on the 17th of September, a 30 days training came to its final ending. 21 teenagers from the Halabja Governorate were given the opportunity to develop their skills, supported by the University of Halabja, which provided them with an IT-Lab equipped with suitable computers and technology.

At the end of the training, six mobile applications had been developed by the trainees. Each of the applications (apps) had been chosen according to the demands and needs of the smart phone users in that area.

Mr. Amanj Kakarash, Head of Rwanga Foundation Sulaimani Office, finally stated:” We are highly appreciating the role of the University of Halabja for all the support they have provided to achieve this success. We are very proud that these young men and women could gain extensive knowledge out of the training and that they will be able to use it in a sustainable way in order to start their own businesses.”

Mrs. Baxshin Yahya Omer, a participant in the training, said:” I and three of my friends have developed a mobile application which concentrated on the creation of a Hawrami Dialect Keyboard. We felt there is a strong need for Hawrami people to use their dialect in order to communicate via smart devices. We are gratefully looking forward to the advanced level of mobile application training as a continuation to what we have learned. “

The android is a powerful operating system and it supports a large number of applications on Smartphones. These applications are more comfortable and advanced for the users.

Mobile applications have extensive uses in business and science fields as well as electronic games or any other field required by potential customers. So successful trainees, who have an interest in it, could come up with brilliant ideas and start a small business that doesn’t require an office space.
