
ERBIL, Kurdistan (August 6th, 2017) - Rwanga Foras team provided Internally Displaced People (IDPs) with two days of employability skills training workshops, to assist them in improving their skills and personal attributes, to make the IDPs more likely to gain employment.
''The aim of the training were to prepare IDPs to step into the job market and find jobs in order to have an income !'' Maryam Zirak, Trainer and Senior Employer Outreach Coordinator at Rwanga Foundation.
The training took place in Jesuit Refugee Service (JRS) Center in Erbil where 50 IDPs took part in the trainings. The trainings were designed to teach them how to create an impressive resume, how to register on the Foras Website, and in improving Interview Skills and work ethics.
"This kind of training is really important for us and motivates us to write a CV and apply for jobs !'' said one of the participants.
The Foras Project in Iraq, has been handed over to Rwanga Foundation in January 2016. The project, managed by Silatech, Microsoft and Rwanga Foundation, works all over Iraq to register companies, provide job opportunities and deliver training courses. The total direct beneficiaries of last year were 223,831, mainly youth.
