
Sulaimani - Kurdistan (August 13th, 2017) - Rwanga Foras, in partnership with the International Finance Corporation (IFC), organized a Business Edge training for junior staff members, in different faculties of The University of Sulaimani, to strengthen their managerial and problem solving skills.
The aim of the training was to improve the managerial skills of those employees, in finding barriers at their work places, identifying the causes of those problems and developing a plan to decrease and solve the problems.
The training was designed to improve the problem-solving skills of the participants. ''When we did an assessment on the performance of the young and junior employees at University of Sulaimani, we found out that sometimes, when they face a problem, they do not have enough skills to deal with it. Or sometimes they were solving a minor problem, neglecting the main issue, so we delivered this training in order to enhance the skills of those employees and improve their performance at their workplace !'' said Sarko Sabir, Trainer and Senior Employer Outreach Coordinator at Rwanga Foundation.
The 7 hours long training started with trainings on recognizing the problem and followed by sessions about analyzing the problem, choosing and implementing solutions.
26 of the junior staff members in different faculties of The University of Sulaimani participated in the training. ''During the intensive discussions, activities and exchange of ideas during the training, we learned how to recognize a problem and how to deal with the factor causing the problem !'' said Rafid Harbi, one of the participants.
The training is being held as part of the agreement between Rwanga and the IFC, a member of the World Bank Group, to provide training to the refugees & host communities and to bolster the country’s private sector amid current challenges and crises.
