SORAN, Kurdistan (August 17th ,2017) - Rwanga Foundation, in partnership with Soran Directorate of Education, awarded nine top students of the Soran District schools during a recognition ceremony.
The nine students have excelled academically and were named top first, second and third students in Soran District's intermediate schools (grades 7-9) and secondary schools (grades 9-12) - secondary of scientific and literary.
The aim of awarding and honoring the top students was to recognize their effort, achievement and progress.
Aziz Said Mala, Director of Soran Education Directorate, gave a speech during the ceremony and congratulated this year’s recipients saying :'' I thank all of the individuals and institutions/organizations that support the education process in Soran District. Especially Rwanga Foundation for their continuous support and contribution to the students !''
''My dream is to serve my community through education. I want to be a model to benefit my community !" said Chro Mahmood, top first student in Soran District and top fourth student in the Kurdistan Region for 9th grade.
Education is one of the four main focal areas of Rwanga Foundation. Only in 2017 (January to August), Rwanga Foundation has implemented 6 educational projects including Mathematics E-Learning and University Guide videos, in which over 5000 students benefited from the projects. Moreover, Rwanga Foundation renovated many schools and provided necessary items. Furthermore, Rwanga provided various training to students and teachers in order to strengthen their skills.
