
Hannover, Germany (September 6-7, 2017) - Rwanga Foundation attended the Businessmen and Investors Conference in Germany, Iraq and Kurdistan Region which was held in Germany by the Petersberg International company.
Rwanga Foundation was the education partner of the conference and the aim of Rwanga Foundation's attendance in the conference was to get international support and encourage the employers to support the educational and capacity building projects in the Kurdistan Region and Iraq.
''The unemployment rate has increased to 16%, based on a data received from the Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs KRG. Most of the job seekers are young people and fresh graduates. Rwanga Foundation has tried to support the job seekers to help them find opportunities, especially those job seekers who do not know where to start or do not have enough efficient skills to find a job. Since 2016, Rwanga Foundation has offered over 150 free training, in which 3080 people have been trained, followed by 2319 of them finding actual jobs!'' said Dastan Qader, Director of Projects at Rwanga Foundation, during a panel discussion in the conference under the title of "Training for Successful Economic Cooperation".
Rwanga Foundation has planned to train 3241 more people by the end of year 2018. The trainings will be in partnership with the GIZ, The German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), Microsoft, Silatech and local and international organizations.
Education is one of the main focal areas of Rwanga Foundation, therefore Rwanga Foundation has implemented many projects aiming to improve education.
Representatives from the Kurdistan Region were present in the conference including Ali Sindi - Minister for Planning for the Kurdistan Regional Government and representative of the Kurdistan Region Primeminister, Newroz Mawlood Amin - Minister of Municipalities and Tourism, Darbaz Kosrat Rasul - Minister of Housing and Reconstruction, Nawzad Hadi Mawlood - Governor of Erbil Province, Farhad Atrushi - Governor of Duhok Province and Dara Jalil Khayat- Chairman of the Kurdistan Federation of Chambers of Commerce.
