
ERBIL, Kurdistan (September 28th, 2017) - Rwanga Foundation donated necessary items to the Museum and Archive of Education-Erbil, in order to support the museum to run.
A few weeks ago, a team of the Rwanga Foundation visited the museum in order to do assessments and to find out what the most important items are, in order to assist the museum to run properly. According to the assessment results, a list of items, needed to be provided to the museum, was created.
"Ever since the financial crises started in the region (three years ago), we have not had enough support. The items, which were donated by the Rwanga Foundation, will assist the museum in its sustainability and will serve the visitors. They are really important to our museum!'' said Ismail Barznji, Director of the Museum and Archive of Education-Erbil.
The donation included items such as printer cartridges, ceiling fans, insecticides, pump and small and big electric lamps.
The Museum and Archive of Education-Erbil is a home to hundreds of artifacts and archives of education in Erbil. The museum once was a school with the name "Erbil Ula" and was one of the first schools to open in Erbil City. Later in 2014, the school had to be renovated and was finally turned into a museum. The museum has a particular significance to the history of Education in Erbil. Moreover, many celebrities, authors and famous individuals of the community of Erbil, have graduated on that school. The school has been and is, ever since, a home and symbol of coexistence to various nations and ethnic groups including Kurds,Turks, Jews, Arabs and Armenians.
