
On 22 June 2014, Rwanga Foundation and the Emirates Red Crescent, in a joint partnership, held the grand opening and the handover of the Kids-Zone Project at the Qushtapa Syrian Refugee Camp to the KRG.
Mr. Farhang Ghafour, Director General of the Director of Arts and Culture in Erbil, gave a speech highlighting the positive effects of having such a facility for children in the camp. Other attendees were Dr. Dindar Zebari, Deputy Head of Foreign Relations for United Nations Affairs; Sheikh Rashid M. Al Mansouri, Consul General, UAE Consulate General in Erbil; Kamaran Hassan, Mayor of Qushtapa Sub-District; Ali Audi, Director General, Erbil Surroundings Education Directorate; various other dignitaries from International and Local NGOs and the United Nations and honored guests.
The Kids-Zone Project is designed to focus on the children in this camp to provide them with a facility to become active and productive in their daily lives.
