ERBIL, KURDISTAN (August 1, 2019) - Rwanga Foundation announced the winners of the Youth Volunteers Initiative Project for 2019.
Youth Volunteers Initiative is an annual competition held by Rwanga Foundation that asks the volunteer groups to apply their project proposals in order to get funds for their projects. Thus, 12 projects from a total of 205 projects were selected and announced as winners for 2019.
With the aim of supporting the female and male youth to come up with project proposals and participate in a competition to implement their projects for the best benefit of the public. Rwanga Foundation launches the annual project of ‘Youth Volunteers Initiative’. For this year, the project were applied from the governorates of Erbil, Sulaimani, Duhok, Halabja, Kirkuk and Nineveh.
The number of received project applications at the closing date was 205 applications from all the selected governorates including (65 applications from Duhok, 50 applications from Erbil, 48 applications from Nineveh, 29 applications from Sulaimani, 8 applications from Halabja and 4 applications from Kirkuk).
Later, the Evaluation Committee selected best 12 projects. The committee members were:
- Bakhtiyar Ahmed –General Director at Civil Development Organization (CDO)
- Huda Zangana - Civil Activist
- Afram Abdulahad - Head of Rwanga Foudation’s office in Duhok
- Avan Jaff - Civil Activist
- Goran Rasool - Deputy Director of Programs at Rwanga Foundation.
Moreover, (3 projects from Halabja, 3 from Duhok, 2 from Erbil, 2 from Sulaimani, 1 from Kirkuk and 1 from Nineveh) were selected and announced as winners.
