Rwanga Foundation Attends the Launch of the KIoD

KURDISTAN, Erbil (May 24, 2017) - Rwanga Foundation team attended the launch ceremony of the Kurdistani Institute of Directors-Iraq where two of the Rwanga Foundation were introduced as trainers of the KIoD.

The Kurdistani Institute of Directors-Iraq (KIoD) is the first independent local institute that is committed to provide corporate governance services in Erbil. the aim of the institute is to spread the knowledge of corporate governance best practices to directors, senior mangers and other stakeholders from different institutions.
Rwanga Foundation was invited to the launch of the KIoD. A team from Rwanga Foundation, including Mr. Abdulsalam Medeni - Chief Executive Director. During the ceremony, private sector and government officials attended. Moreover, trained trainers were introduced where two of the five trainers are Rwanga Foundation employees. Dastan Qader, Project Manager at Rwanga Foundation, and Shano Ibrahim, Foras Project Manager at Rwanga foundation were among the introduced trainers.
The KIoD is supported by the IFC, a member of the World Banck Group and the largest global development institute focused on the private sector in emerging markets. ''IFC has supported over 80 similar companies in 32 countries'' said Darrin Hartzler, Manager of IFC's Corporate Governance Group.
The KIoD aims to provide trainings to improve the private and public sectors in Kurdistan region and Iraq.
On October 16th, 2016. IFC, a member of the World Bank Group, signed an agreement with Rwanga Foundation to jointly provide business edge trainings to host communities and refugees in Iraq as a part of the efforts to bolster the country’s private sector amid current challenges and crises.
