
Erbil, KURDISTAN (June 10th 2018) – Rwanga foundation is launching a new project with the title ‘Rwanga Book Project: Read to Lead’ in order to encourage writers to participate by writing educational books. The project creates a competition to select the best six written books annually.
The book competition will be held annually. This yeas, as the first year of the project, Rwanga Foundation encourages writers to write education short stories for children. The themes of the short stories should be around; Hope and Future, Kurdistan Culture, History and Heritage, Technology and daily life. After the competition, six books will be selected and published in a coloured book, with1,000 copies - 6,000 copies in total.
The aim of the project, this year, is to encourage writers to write educational short stories for children, provide additional sources of learning for children other than school course books and promote reading habit among children.
‘’The stories should be in between 2000 to 3000 words, and they should not be published before. Also, they should be in Kurdish language’’ stated Dastan Qader, Director of Programs at Rwanga Foundation, during a press conference while explaining the Criteria and Conditions for the project.
The deadline for receiving the short stories is September 10, 2018. Moreover, The evaluation process starts from September 15th2018. The winners will be announced in a special ceremony to introduce and publish their books will be held in December 2018
