
KRI (January 2022) - Rwanga Foundation in cooperation with Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit GmbH (GIZ) conducted 15 training courses for 288 private sector employees all over KRI, as part of the ‘Empowering Young Employees in the Private Sector Through Skills Development in KRI’ project.
The project's goal was to improve knowledge and productivity in a variety of areas based on the needs of employees. As a result of the training, participants were able to develop a better understanding of their role in their specific working environments and their individual duties. Consequently, self-confidence and commitment could be strengthened, while also lasting connections of constructive exchange were created between the participants.
The trainings were held in the governorates of Erbil, Sulaimani, Duhok, and Halabja, with 288 employees from 219 private sector companies taking part. Each training lasted for two days.
Starting on January 12th until January 25th, five training sessions were conducted in Erbil where 96 employees of 81 registered companies were invited to participate. The delivered training courses in Erbil governorate included: Marketing, Sales and Customer Services, Administration and Clerical, Communication and Negotiation, Computer Skills. Furthermore, trainings in Duhok governorate began on January 9th and ended on January 27th, benefiting 96 employees from 66 private sector companies. The trainings covered topics such as: Marketing, Financial Management, Sales and Customer Service, Administration and Clerical Work, and Computer Skills.
The trainings were subsequently moved to the governorates of Sulaimani and Halabja, where a total of 96 individuals from 72 companies benefited from the five trainings in the areas of Marketing, Financial Management, Sales and Customer Services, Administration and Clerical.
The successful project implementation can therefore be summarized with the following facts: A total number of 15 held trainings, benefitting 288 employees from 219 companies (121 Females, 167 Males) from all over KRI. The beneficiaries included persons from host communities, IDPs, refugees, returnees, and persons with disabilities (PWDs).
In partnership with “Rwanga Foundation”, this project was financed by the German Federal Ministry of Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) and implemented by the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) program “Employment Promotion for IDPs, refugees, returnees and socially deprived households in host communities (P4E – Prospects for Employment)”.
