Mission Possible Your Involvement Provides Smiles

Rwanga Foundation has created an ongoing campaign “Mission Possible: Your Involvement Provides Smiles” to assist the Syrian refugees on a weekly basis with desperately needed diapers, infant milk, sanitary napkins and clothing. We plan to partner with local private and public schools to encourage high school level students to donate goods while we provide the transporting and distributing of the supplies to the camps. This will not only benefit the Syrian Refugees, but also instill the spirit of donating and volunteering in teen citizens of the region.

This campaign could not have been initiated at a more necessary time. After the severe floods that devastated the region on Tuesday 28 January 2014, we knew we had to act quickly.

On Saturday 01 February 2014, Rwanga Charity Organization partnered with International School of Chueifat to launch its campaign to assist the Syrian Refugees. Our Rwanga team met with a group of volunteer students at the school to load up 2 truckloads of donated 1600 packages of diapers and 1200 tins of powdered infant milk for children ages 1 to 3 years; 200 packages of female sanitary supplies; 300 packages with children’s clothing.

We visited the Basirma Camp near the district of Harir in the Erbil Governorate to distribute the supplies. This camp hosts a total of 3200 individual Syrian Refugees (645 families) of which today we were able to provide these necessary supplies to 784 children.
