DUHOK & SULAIMANI // Friday, June 12, 2015 — Two teams from Rwanga Foundation distributed thousands more flyers and garbage bags the past two weeks to families traveling for picnicking as part of an ongoing initiative to proper waste disposal.
The target cities this time around were Sulaimani and Duhok, and pamphlets were distributed at picnicking sites, security checkpoints and at various stops beside major roadways.
Approximately one month ago on May 15, 2015, Rwanga Foundation began the initiative by distributing 5,000 packets (flyers and garbage bags) to families picnicking near the areas of Shaqlawa, Sheraswar, Tawska, and Hiran inside Erbil governorate.
Rwanga Foundation has made environment awareness, waste disposal a priority as seen through the previous, “Keep Kurdistan Clean” initiative whereby trash bins where distributed throughout Kurdistan.
