Environmental Protection – A Humanitarian duty and Protection for the Nation
Rwanga’s Project “Environment Awareness Raising Initiatives for Children” came to a close at 12:00pm on 02 December 2013 in the Soran District at the final event by putting into action, the training which was given to school age children (8727 total) and further inviting the greater community to participate in keeping their environment clean.
Today, the Mayor of Soran District, Kirmanj Izzat Sulaiman, and various other Government officials within the Soran District joined Rwanga and the school children for a grand clean-up event. A large portion of the main road in the town center was closed off to automobiles in order to accommodate everyone. With plastic bag in hand and bright orange gloves, the group hit the town center and disposed of every piece of garbage which was scattered along the street and sidewalk on their path. Curious passers-by occasionally stopped the group to find out what was being done, yet another positive outreach to the community for awareness of keeping their environment clean.
There are high hopes that this excursion will pave the way and create a domino-effect for the betterment of Kurdistan’s environment.
