
''Hope is the Source of Success'' was the topic of the seminar.
DUHOK, Kurdistan (November 10th,2017) - The Rwanga Foundation, in coordination with the Peshmarga Center and YADC Center, held a seminar about the role of the youth and the importance of their optimistic view to improve the current situation of Kurdistan, performed and lead by the civil activist Mr. Abdulsalam Medeni Islam, CED at Rwanga Foundation.
The seminar was attended by over 200 people including a dozen of significant figures of the Duhok community. The aim was to encourage the youth to look at problems out of a different perspective and find solution based methods to improve the community and engage to improve current situations.
Mr. Medeni was very optimistic about the future and stated that: “Kurdistan is not in its best situation. Yet, with each crisis there are opportunities that we can get and work on to move forward seeking for brighter days, especially for our future young generation !“
Many of the attendees were young people, who had a good contributing informs of questions and comments. “People became hopeless after the attacks and blockade on the Kurdistan Region. Therefore this type of discussions and seminars are important for the youth to be motivated to have a role in making things better!” said one of the attendees of the seminar, believing that more of such seminars are needed.
Mr. Abdulsalam Medeni Islam is a civil activist, author of five books and writer for local and international Newspapers/Magazines. He has experience in civil society program management and training, with a good understanding of the evolution and development of civil society in post-conflict environments. Moreover, Mr. Medeni served as an adviser to the Deputy Prime Minister of the Kurdistan Regional Government on Civil Society and Youth issues. He currently is the Chief Executive Director for Rwanga Foundation.
