Happy faces greet new school in Suli’s Said Sadiq district

SULAIMANI, Kurdistan — In line with committed efforts to education, on May 25, 2015, Rwanga Foundation officially handed over a six-classroom primary school built in Said Sadiq district. The school project was implemented after urgent appeal from residents for a solution to the lack of access to education for their children.
The handover ceremony included attendance from the General Director of Education in Sulaimani and the Director of Education in Said Sadiq district.
“Building a school in Said Sadiq district is of extremely important value for developing education in the region and one that is necessary to tackle the problems students face, such as access to education,” said the General Director of Education in Sulaimani, Najamadin Ali Ahmed.
Students’ and teachers’ faces were glowing at the ceremony, while many had smiles from ear to ear in anticipation of touring the new school.
In a speech, the Mayor of Said Sadiq district, Diyar Rafiq Faiq, noted that “Redevelopment in this region is in dire need. Improvement is needed in many areas such as education, health and sports. We are delighted that Rwanga Foundation has listened to the needs of residents by providing such crucial support and building such a modern, high-quality school.” The mayor added, “This is not the first project Rwanga Foundation has implemented in Said Sadiq, they have also listened to the needs of youth and children by implementing a football pitch and playground in Greza.”
Representatives from Rwanga Foundation thanked attendees and wished the teachers and students many happy years of teaching and learning in their new school. Following the ceremony Rwanga Foundation received a special certificate of appreciation from the Director of Education in Said Sadiq District, Soran Muhamad Mahmud.
