Rwanga Foundation Announces the Rwanga Book Project

Erbil, KURDISTAN (January 15th,  2020) – Rwanga Foundation is launching the ‘Rwanga Book Project: Read to Lead’  with the mission to encourage writers in participating by writing books related  to existing regional youth problems. The best four books will be elected in this competition based project.

 

This year, as the second year of the annual project, the Rwanga Foundation encourages young writers to write books related to existing youth problems. The basic thought behind this competition is to simply raise awareness out of the perspective which is hit directly; the young people themselves. the writers mission should be to encourage the local young communities in building their future, detect the hidden and obvious obstacles and problems and find and implement the right solutions.

As an outcome of the competition, the four books with the biggest impact will be selected and published in a colored book with a limited edition of 2,000 copies per book (8,000 copies in total).

Criteria and Conditions (How to Apply):

  • The book should be in between 15.000 (Fifteen thousand) to 20.000 (Twenty thousand) words.
  • The book should not have been published before.
  • The book should be in kurdish language (all kurdish dialects allowed).

 

Timeline: 

  • 15/1/2020 announcing the project.
  • 15/1/2020 – 15/4/2020 Duration to apply. (3 months)
  • 15/4/2020 – 15/5/2020 Evaluation and selection of Books.
  • 15/5/2020 – 10/7/2020 Design and Print of selected books.
  • 15/7/2020 Publishing ceremony.
